What is Gdhyana?
Gdhyana Sanshodhana Nagari is a space for unconventional teaching-learning to build extraordinary future leaders. It is a not-for-profit, apolitical and non-secular organisation. It registered under Section-8 of the Companies act 2013 in February 2019. Gdhyana’s mission is to build a self-reliant society through de-centralised appropriate technologies.
How it is different from other learning spaces & schools?
Ghyana believes in building young originators by providing Gyana (knowledge) with Dhyana (concentration in applied research activities) and self-reliant society through appropriate technologies. It has introduced experiential learning through research methodologies on local societal challenges/issues in education from primary level itself.
Who founded it?
Dr. Brijesh, PhD holder from an IIT Bombay, is founder and director. Dr. Brijesh along with committed team of volunteers, skill experts and mother Nature are dedicated impart unique learning experience to every seeker.
Where is it Located and how is the campus?
In the outskirts of Vadodara, Gujarat, Gdhyana is located in Tajpura village of Padra taluka. Built in 38,000 Sq. Ft. area (about 1 Acre) with lush green natural environment campus has achieved self sufficiency in vegetables, fruits, milk and its product, cooking gas, Jaggery, some herbs & spices in just three years.
For unconventional experiential teaching-learning, Nagari have many unconventional and extraordinary facilities such as “Soch-Tinkerers’ Den” lab, “Amra Kaksh” open classroom, “Sur-Tal Sangit Shala” two natural wall space, three “Eco-friendly Bamboo Huts: Masti Ghar, Kriya Shala and Karma Sthal”, Open Library, Tree Platform. For fun learn, Nagari have Muddy-Puddle, Multi-purpose Water Pool (for irrigation, experiments, learning swimming, water fun, learning wall, drier space etc.), “heaps of Joy” sand heap, “Khushiyo Ka Khazana” play zone, Multi-purpose Play ground, “Cow-Cuddling Zone” etc.
Who can study here at Gdhyana?
Gdhyana runs full time learning program for all those kids who have chosen productive & stress free unconventional learning journey (kids who are not willing to go for conventional schooling due to any reason, unschooling/homeschooling kids, special kids like slow/fast/over-smart learners, mentally/physically challenged kids, Autistic kids etc.-No age limit).
It is a ‘Kid-Centric’ informal (no rutta based exams, no pass/fail results, no degree certificates) learning program which is designed by combination of ancient gurukul culture and today’s premium research institutions’ methodologies.
What else Gdhyana do?
Gdhyana is committed to work on technologies/methodologies which helps to conserve mother earth and mother nature. Hence, team Gdhyana (with the help of interns/scholars and Gdhyana kids) is working on resolve challenges with organic farming practices, develop & promote nature friendly products, pollution reduction technologies and decentralised technology for reaching self-sufficiency etc.
